Fruit of the Spirit – Peace

Presented by: Pastor Lynden on August 27, 2017.

The fruit of the Spirit (Peace) gives us comfort and demonstrates that we have crucified the flesh and are in Christ.

Galatians 5:22-25 New King James Version (NKJV)

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

The fruit of the Spirit of righteousness is Peace. And against such there is no law. Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh.

Your flesh has passions. Your flesh has desires. And it desires to be filled, the same as your spirit desires to be filled. It just desires to be filled with a lot different stuff that didn’t come from Jesus.

And we all have flesh. So don’t get under condemnation that you have a flesh. But the apostle of the church said, “If you truly are in Christ, you are going to crucify the desires of the flesh and its passions, and you’re gonna walk in the Spirit because you are going to be full of Him.” So we should be full of Peace.

It’s a walk. It’s a daily walk that we walk in the fruit of the Spirit.

Peace is a condition or sense of harmony, well being, and prosperity. Peace is more than the absence of hostility and it is more than a calm psychological state.

The one place you should be able to find peace — And the apostle Paul talked about this to the Galatians, that we shouldn’t be fighting and devouring one another. If you’re gonna find peace anywhere, you should find it here. If you don’t find peace in your church, something’s going on inside of you that’s not right.
