A husband must love his wife regardless of her action toward him. From Ephesians 5, we hear directly from Paul the apostle on the behavior of husbands.
Ephesians 5:25 New King James Version (NKJV)
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
We must prepare for the prodigals to come home. Jesus only created one institution, the church. Right now it is like the prodigal son and is wayward. But we must prepare our hearts to receive them back like the loving father received his prodigal son back.
What Jesus gave everything to save and preserve, the world would try to separate for a few dollars. The world is trying to cheapen marriage.
To know what love is and isn’t, we return to 1 Corinthians 13, the love chapter.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7 New King James Version (NKJV)
4 Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; 5 does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; 6 does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; 7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
If your marriage foundation is love, no matter what comes at it, and things will come at it, then love will endure to the end with that marriage.
