In The Image of Love

Presented by: Pastor Donna on July 23, 2017.

As we grow in the image of Jesus, in the image of love, we enter a new realm of protection over our loved ones against the attacks of Satan.

1 John 4:15-19 King James Version (KJV)

15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

19 We love him, because he first loved us.

We should be growing in the image of Jesus, in the image of Love. When storms come our way, we should be speaking against them, taking authority over them saying, “Peace be still in the name of Jesus.”

Our destiny is to be in the image of Jesus.

John 14:12 King James Version (KJV)

12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Romans 8:29 King James Version (KJV)

29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Ephesians 4:15 King James Version (KJV)

15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

1 John 4:17 King James Version (KJV)

17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

God wants to do the same thing through us that he did through Jesus. We may remember occasions when the love of God flowed through us (individually), but lately we wonder why the church have not lived in the image of God?

The church body has done pretty well in recognizing God lives on the inside of us. And we have come to an understanding that we have been born of God’s spirit and by his word. But we need a much higher degree of revelation that God is love and that His love is to be used in me and in you.

As we develop and experience love, it will flush out all fear. When we are stepping out in faith, into love, we enter another realm of protection. It is not enough to just know this in our heads. If you knew how much God loves you, you would rebuke the Devil any time.

And your faith grows as you come to know God’s love for you. You cannot trust God if you do not know that God loves you.

You might say, “How do I practice the love of God? How do I become in the image of Love, in the image of Jesus? It is by practicing being in his presence. It becomes an awareness that his love is constantly with you, no matter what.
