We the church are the vessels that God will use to bring good news. From Matthew 28 we review the great commission of Christ and we renew our commitment to this calling.
Matthew 28:16-20 New King James Version (NKJV)
16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. 17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted.
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen
We are on the cusp of Christ’s return. Christ wants to encourage us to ‘stay in the game.’ This means we are to stay active and not become complacent in our walk with Christ.
The Lord has called us to be leaders and there is still plenty to do.
Commission means charge or a call to do something.
Don’t be discouraged by bad news you see in the media. Our calling is to go out into the world and make disciples so they can receive Christ.
If you just surrender, be obedient this morning. There’s places that you go that I can’t go. There’s places that I go that no body else can go. God has appointed each of us to be in that particular spot at that time.
If you look, if you allow God to move the veil back, there’s always someone there who needs some good news, who needs some hope, who needs some joy in their lives, who needs some beauty to replace the ashes.
