United we stand

Presented by: Pastor Tim on September 17, 2017.

Divisions in the world are caused by the enemy, Satan. But we war not against flesh and blood, but against principalities and powers. Therefore we must walk in love and strive together in unity for the prize.

Matthew 12:25 New King James Version (NKJV)

25 But Jesus knew their thoughts, and said to them: “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.

The world today has come upon some real hard times. The enemy is working to divide us. Our nation was founded on the principles of Christ. There is strength in unity. The motto, ‘United we stand, divided we fall’ is still relevant today.

There is strength in unity. We can be a powerful force for good if we stand in unity with our brothers and sisters.

Wednesday nights we are studying the book, The Bait of Satan and it emphasizes that offense will drive a wedge and cause division. But unity brings healing.

We should not be involved in the blame game.  We should be concerned with what matters most. It is not about any particular leader or circumstance. Our attention should be walking in love. Our attention should be walking in unity. Our attention should be walking in togetherness.

Ephesians 6:12 New King James Version (NKJV)

12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

We are called to live in unity of Spirit.

Mark 3:25 New King James Version (NKJV)

25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

Paul even begs us to walk in unity. Walking in unity of the Spirit promotes peace.

Ephesians 4:1-3 New King James Version (NKJV)

4 I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, 2 with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, 3 endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

We can only control what we do. And if we all walk of one mind, in one accord, worshiping one God, then we all have unity, we walk toward the same God and we will have unity with one another.
